Join us to learn tips on how to write about historical traumas, such as chattel enslavement, in ways that are reparative and healing. k. kennedy Whiters, Founder of Black in Historic Preservation and (un)Redact the Facts, will share her research and key findings from “Redacted: a Survey,” the study she launched in 2023 on grammar and language in interpretations about historical traumas. Participants will also have the opportunity to take the survey and add their perspective to this pioneering study.
